Marlene L. Martin, age 79, of Fennville, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Grace of Douglas. Born February 2, 1933 in Douglas, MI, she was the daughter of Peter and Genevieve Smiser. A life long area resident, she and her husband owned and operated the Douglas Produce Co. for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald on December 11, 1985, and by one son Bobby Martin on Sept. 25, 2009. Surviving are her children Donny Martin, Pete and Gina Martin, Ricky and Carrie Martin all of Fennville, grandchildren Serena, Lucas, and Samantha, brother Richard Smiser of Douglas, and sister Cathleen Schoeneich of Howell, MI. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. till service time. Officiating will be Ms. Marcia Tucker, and burial will be in the Fennville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice 530 Linn St. Allegan, MI 49010.
