Marion A. "Mon" Downer, age 83, of Glenn, Michigan died Friday, July 22, 2016 at Grace of Douglas in Douglas, Michigan. Born December 25, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the son of Andrew and Genevieve (Zlotkowski) Downer. Mon worked as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring from General Motors. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mon was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, his son-in-law and grandson. He leaves his legacy of love to his wife of 61 years Maryann, and his family, Mark Downer, Michele King (Michael) Shedd, Michael Downer, Marcia (Perry) Bieber, Matthew (Christina) Downer, Marguerite Downer, and Marilyn (Michael) Hartwell. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mon leaves behind many longtime friends and beloved friend of the family Fr. Michael Danner. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mon's name to St. Peter's Christian Neighbors, P.O Box 43, Douglas, MI 49406. Visitation will be held at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a rosary to start at 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 100 St. Peters Dr., Douglas, MI on July 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM with luncheon to follow.
