Marie Ann Ruiter passed away peacefully at home in Martin, Michigan on Saturday, April 23, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Marie was born on March 27, 1972 in Batac in the Northern Philippines, the daughter of Pedro and Paula Sabas. She is survived by Eric Ruiter, her beloved husband of 11 years, and their children Erika and Xander, a stepson Jacob Ruiter and his wife Flora; her sisters Celia and Ida, her twin brothers Edur and Domine, her brother Bonifascio, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Edward. Marie attended Marcos University and had a long, interesting and varied employment history working as a travel companion and nanny in Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong prior to coming to the United States. Eight years ago Marie joined the Perrigo work force in Allegan in the Quality Components Department. Everyone who knew Marie valued her great intelligence, reliability, sense of humor and extreme kindness and generosity.
