Obituary

Marianne Hoffman, 85, of Fennville, MI passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Douglas Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Born November 22, 1938, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Anthony and Marie (Mayer) Muller.  Marianne married James Andrew Hoffman in June 1960, and they spent sixty-four wonderful years together watching their family grow.  She was a devout Catholic, having been a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Douglas since 1978.  After joining the church, it wasn't long before Marianne became an active member of the Parish Council and later, the Parish Secretary.  She was committed to helping others learn their faith by teaching RCIA and at the Catholic school, Immaculata Academy.  Marianne was also a gifted artist through a multitude of mediums.  She was a talented painter and calligrapher as well as a skilled restorationist and designed most of the stained-glass windows currently in St. Peter's.  Marianne handcrafted and tailormade many beautiful pieces of clothing, including formal gowns, for her daughters over the years.

In addition to James, her devoted husband, Marianne is survived by her children, Mark Hoffman, Paul Hoffman, Andrew Hoffman, Mary Elizabeth Hoffman and Mary Margaret (Jim) Sarych; grandchildren, Michael, Elaine, Caleb, Paul Jr., Cassandra, Andrew II, Theresa, John, Joanna, Daniel, Bridget, Michael and Danielle; and great-grandchildren, Skyler, Emily, Aria, Anastasia, Andrew III, Caroline, Beatrice, Curtis, Jackson and Kacey.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Raymond Muller, Annette Gangolf and her infant sister, Jeanette Muller.

The family will receive friends at Chappell Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church in Douglas with visitation at the church for one hour prior.  Marianne will be laid to rest in Douglas Cemetery immediately following.
