Obituary

Marian Snow passed away at the age of 93 on December 21, 2008 in Fennville Michigan. Marian was the oldest daughter of Henry and Doris Merkle, owners of Preusser Jewelers in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Gillette and Ruth McCurdy and her brother David Merkle. Marian was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carlton Snow, a pharmacist and owner of Snow's Pharmacy in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Marian and Carlton were members of the Kalamazoo Country Club. Marian was an active member of the Kalamazoo Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as Sunday school director, Luther League leader, and national registrar for the Gun Lake Lutheran Camp. Her community services activities include being a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout leader, and a ceramics instructor. Marian loved to garden, especially roses, play golf, play cards, and travel. She took enormous pride in her 8 grandchildren (Geoff, Molly, Patrick, Christopher, Jenny, Kelly, Jason and Michael) and her 10 great-grandchildren (Griffin, Kirby, Brendan, Kaitlin, Bryce, Morgan, Chase, Samson, Peyton and Lucy.) Marian is survived by her 4 children, Donald Snow of Richland, Michigan, Sally Cassell of Fennville, Michigan, Mikel Snow of Sierra Madre, California and Carl Snow of Ann Arbor, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Holland or the charity of ones choice.
