Lucille Bernear, age 96, of Fennville, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Golden Orchards in Fennville. Born November 26, 1916 in Montrose, Michigan, she was the daughter of John B. Reed, Dora (Smith) Reed and step mother Nina (Newall) Reed. Lucille lived in Flushing, Fenton, and Linden, MI, Canfield Ohio, and for the past 15 years in the Douglas/Fennville area. She retired from General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio in 1981. Surviving is her son Richard D. Bernear of Saugatuck, daughter Sharon and Alan Lockwood of Houghton Lake, Michigan, one grandson, three great-grandchildren, and one great great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 3-6 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI. Burial will be in the Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, Michigan.
