Obituary

Louis Alyn Baldus, 50. of Fennville, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at his home. Born in Grand Haven, he had lived in the Ganges area for the past six years, coming from Grand Rapids. He had worked for Boy Machines, Inc. in Plastic Injections Molding and was also a professional photographer. He was a member of the Ganges Township Fire Department, First Responders, Grand Valley Aquarium Club, Mackinaw Kite Flying Club, and was the former Mayor of the City of Grant, he also served as the President of the Pier Cove Forest Home Owners Association. Surviving are his wife, Somatha; children, Michelle Short of Newaygo, Sue Gillespie of Grant, Jacie Holshoe of Kalamazoo, and Jason Holshoe of Chicago; two granddaughters, Alexis and Andrea Short; parents, Alyn and Lois Baldus of Grant; brothers, Dean and Mickie Baldus of Mandeville, La., Rodney and Carmen Baldus of Newaygo, Matthew and Diane Baldus of Petoskey, and Steven Baldus of Fowlerville; many nieces and nephews. Services are l:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Ganges United Methodist Church with Marcia Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Plummerville Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until the time of service Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Ganges Township Fire Department.
