Obituary

Lewis E. Guigue, age 88 of Glenn, MI, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Born March 4, 1922 in Port Huron, MI, he was the son of Eli and Gladys (Olson) Guigue. A World War II Army Veteran, Lewis retired from Getman Brothers in South Haven in 1983. He was also the Ganges Township Fire Chief for over 20 years. Lewis attended the Glenn United Methodist Church, was a member of the Pullman V.F.W., the Holland Vintage Car Club, and was a honorary member of the Ganges Township Fire Department. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Hilda (Radseck) Guigue on July 24, 2009. Surviving are his children; Robert and Nanci Guigue of Walker, MI, Mary and Tony Johnson of Cedar Springs, MI, grandchildren; Brad Johnson and Adam Guigue, one great-granddaughter Kailien Johnson, and his brother Edgar and Hazel Guigue of South Haven. Visitation will be Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 4-8 p.m., and funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI, officiating will be Rev. Jean Smith, and the burial will be in the Plummerville Cemetery.
