Lester Allen Bell, 87 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Addington Place in Holland, Michigan. Born January 25, 1935, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, he was the son of the late Luther and Florence (Heckard) Bell and the husband of the late Sally J. (Hutchins) Bell. Lester and his wife enjoyed their life together and were very busy raising their six children and trying to keep up with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A mechanic by trade, Lester retired from Michigan Fruit Canners and was known around the Fennville area for his expertise in fixing small engines. He was the owner and operator of Les's Small Engine Repair service and enjoyed the satisfaction it brought him. Spending time with his family though, is what brought him the most joy. He loved their times together and the fun they created just being around one another. Lester also enjoyed sitting on his front porch with Sally and waiving or visiting with anyone that would walk or drive by their home. Lester is survived by his children, Judi Thompson, Pam Bell, Daniel (Julie) Bell, Julie (Brian) Evans, Tom Bell and Becky (Tony) Lungaro; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Thompson. Friends may meet with the family at Chappell Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at which time the Funeral Service will begin. Memorial donations may be made in Lester's memory to Kindred Hospice of Grand Rapids, or your local Hospice and/or diabetes organizations. Service Details.
