Obituary

Leslie Earl Wilkinson, 83, of Fennville, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at his home. Born in Allegan County, he had been employed as a farm implement dealer, retiring in 1982, and had also worked for Fleming Brothers Oil driving a truck for 15 years. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II. He was a member of Glenn United Methodist Church, and a former master of the Dutcher Lodge No. 193 F & A.M. Saladin Shrine, and the American Legion. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Donna; children, Ralph and Marilyn Wilkinson of Grand Junction, John Wilkinson of Grand Rapids, Jeffery and Sally Wilkinson of Grand Rapids, and Brian Wilkinson of Glenn; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Wilkinson of Jacksonville, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Wilkinson, in 1992. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Glenn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jean Smith officiating. burial will be in Plummerville Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville. Memorials may be made to Saladin Shrine Foundation for Children in Grand Rapids.
