Leonard W. Laaksonen, age 79, of Fennville, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Hospice House in Holland. Born February 4, 1932 in Rudyard, Michigan, he was the son of Uno and Lena Laaksonen. A US Army veteran, Leonard lived in the Fennville and South Haven area for the past fifty years and worked for Fleming Brothers Oil Company for over thirty-five years. He now joins his beloved wife Marcella, who preceded him in death August 8, 2009. Leonard is survived by his children; Leonard and Connie Laaksonen of Fennville, Scott and Cathy Laaksonen of Sheridan, MI, Debbie and Doug Wieland of Fennville, Kim and Jim Kiss of Fennville, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters. A family memorial gathering will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2462 63rd Street in Fennville. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Holland 270 Hoover Blvd Holland, MI 49423.
