Leah E. Jacobs, age 89, of Sacramento, California passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014. Born November 23, 1924 in New Richmond, Michigan, she was the daughter of Leo and Vivian (Stevens) Godfrey. Leah lived in New Richmond for many years moving to California in 1955. She was a member of the New Richmond Baptist Church. Leah was preceded in death by her husband Harry W. Jacobs on May 26, 1998. Surviving are her children; Lawrence and Teresa Jacobs of California, Edward Jacobs of California, and Vivian Cofer of New York, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. At her request cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, Michigan, with burial of her cremains at the Manlius Cemetery, New Richmond, Michigan. Officiating will be Ms. Marcia Tucker.
