Lawrence Edward Birkholz, 71, of Fennville, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at his home. Born March 4, 1938 in Fennville, Michigan, he was the son of Clarence C. Birkholz and Dorothy (Beagle) Birkholz. He was preceded in death by his wife Grace Birkholz on June 23, 1996 and also a brother, Lyle Birkholz. He worked as a machine operator for Pullman Industries for 19 years. He was a member of the AMVETS and of the American Legion. Surviving are his brothers, Leo and Barbara Birkholz of Fennville, Michigan, Robert and Nila Birkholz of Sun Lake, Arizona, Carl and Claudia Birkholz of Yorktown, Virginia, Dean Birkholz of Holland, Michigan; two sisters, Sally Daniels of Holland, Michigan, and Irene and James McDonald of Morrilton, Arkansas, many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in Fennville Cemetery. Officiating will be Chaplin John Neese.
