Karen Lynne Laird, 57, of Fennville, MI passed on to the Lord on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. Born August 12, 1963 in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of Richard M. Joslin, II and the late Barbara (Kohl) Joslin. On April 24, 1987 she married Thomas David Laird and she looked forward to celebrating their thirty-fourth anniversary with him later this month. Karen had worked as a nuclear medicine technologist at North Ottawa Community Hospital. Her many years of nuclear medicine work allowed her to meet and work with countless patients. She and her therapy dog volunteered to bring comfort to hospice patients in their time of need. Karen also volunteered to take photos of headstones for families that were doing genealogy research. She enjoyed helping them in their search for the final resting place of their family members and bringing some peace and closure to their lives. Karen was a loving mother of two fine boys and grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter. In addition to her father, Richard, and her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her sons, Nick Laird and Thomas (Meagan) Laird; her sister, Linda Husulak; and her granddaughter, Sarah Laird. The family will receive friends at Chappell Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Taylor Cemetery, Ganges Township, on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Service Details.
