IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita Louise
(Young) Higgins
June 25, 1944 – January 7, 2024
Juanita Louise Higgins (Young), passed away on January 7, 2024, at Rest Haven Care Center in Holland, Michigan. Born on June 25, 1944, in Visalia, California, Juanita lived a life marked by passion, kindness, and a nurturing spirit that touched all who knew her.
Juanita was the beloved wife of the late Rollo Higgins Jr., with whom she shared countless cherished memories until his passing. She was the sister to her late siblings, Lou Edna Young and Loretta Peterson. Her legacy continues through the lives of her many nieces and nephews, who will remember her for her boundless love and the gentle wisdom she imparted.
Throughout her life, Juanita dedicated herself to serving others, both professionally and personally. As a secretary, she was the epitome of efficiency and warmth, making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her role as a caretaker extended beyond her professional duties, as she embodied the very essence of compassion and care in her daily interactions with those around her.
Juanita's interests reflected her sweet and loving nature. An avid reader, she found joy and solace in the pages of her favorite books. Her passion for collecting dolls was matched only by her skill in knitting and rug hooking, crafts through which she expressed her creativity and meticulous attention to detail. She gave her heart to her beloved cats, Sonny and Chrisy and loved all animals.
A proud member of the Fennville VFW Auxiliary, Juanita's commitment to her community was unwavering. She supported veterans and their families with the same passion and dedication that she brought to every aspect of her life.
Those who knew Juanita would describe her as loving, gentle, and passionate. She approached life with a quiet strength and an open heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence sorely missed.
Per Juanita's wishes, cremation has taken place and Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family.
