Juanita Ethel Johnson, 85 of Grand Haven, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Spectrum Health Zeeland Hospital. Born March 14, 1936 in Ripley County, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ethel (Penrod) Elliott. Juanita was blessed with two children, Lorna and Mark, and took great pride in them. As a single mother, she worked hard to provide for her family. Whether it was housekeeping at Douglas Hospital, factory work at High Q Industries, or cleaning at Meijer, Inc. before retiring. After retiring her grandchildren and Ganges Baptist Church became her purpose. She had two hobbies that meant a great deal to her. She loved to bowl and do embroidery. Many people will remember the beautiful baby quilts she made all by hand, with love. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all those that knew her. Those left to carry on her legacy are her daughter, Lorna (Brian) Heyer; her grandchildren, Matthew (Courtney Krcmarik) Heyer and Joshua Heyer; her sister, Ovella Stephens; her sister-in-law, Barb Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her son; Mark Johnson, and her brother, Frank Elliott. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chappell Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Pastor Bill Dodge and Pastor Thomas Case co-officiating. Juanita will be laid to rest in Taylor Cemetery, Ganges Township. Service Details.
