Joy Irene (Grover) Haynes, age 96, of Fennville, died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Hospice House in Holland. Born July 3, 1913 in Allegan County, Michigan, she was the daughter of William and Esther (McIlvain) Grover. Joy was a member of the Bravo Christian Reformed Church, and lived in the Fennville and Pullman area for the past 24 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest W. Haynes, one son Eugene, and one daughter Alice Hoyt. Surviving is her son-in-law Robert Hoyt of Fennville, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren, brother Chuck Grover of South Haven, sisters; Janet Barker of Holland, Norma Wilson of Arkansas, and Roberta Pettyjohn of Georgia. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 6-8 p.m., with funeral services 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Chappell Funeral Home Fennville, Michigan. Officiating will be Pastor Peter DeHaan, and burial will be in East Cooper Cemetery, Cooper Township Kalamazoo, MI. Memorials may be made to the family.
