Jose Encarnacion Lara, age 81. of Fennville, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at Spectrum Health Blodget, in Grand Rapids, MI. Born March 25, 1930 in Mexico, he was the son of Narciso and Gregoria (Sanchez) Lara. Jose was a member of Faith Christian Center in Holland, and was a retired employee of Comstock Michigan Fruit Canners in Fennville. Surviving is his wife of over 60 years Castula Lara of Fennville, children; Eleazar and Olga Lara, Robert Lara, Maria and Kerry Barnes, Gloria and Rodolfo Diaz, Maricela and John Esquivel, Gracie and Mike Esquivel all of Fennville, and Felix Lara and Nicole Burns of Holland, MI. Twenty one grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. He was preceded in death by one son Armando Lara. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with a service a 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W.
