John R. Gnagi, age 82, of Fennville, MI passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at his residence. Born November 12, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of John and Laura (Schauer) Gnagi. John proudly served his country as a Marine Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. On August 20, 1960 he married Lois Jean Sherry in Frankfort, Michigan. John retired as a cartographer; and had a passion for artistry, specializing in sculpture wood working and painting. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Douglas, MI and was a Knight of Columbus. Surviving is his wife of 55 years Jean Gnagi of Fennville; children Brian Gnagi of Stevensville, MI, Christopher and Nancy Gnagi of Flint, MI, Marjorie and Robert Mickaels of Gobles, MI, Laurie and Phillip Harte of St. Joseph, MI; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. John is also survived by his brother Michael and Anne Gnagi and sister Suzane and Floyd Tomaski. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Gnagi. Memorial donations may be made in John's name to: Knights of Columbus, Council 8687, P.O. Box 941, Douglas, MI 49406. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Douglas, MI. Father Fabio Garzon will officiate.
