Jimmie D. Scudder Sr., age 79, of Holland, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Medilodge of Wyoming. Born December 7, 1936 in Sparta, IL, he was the son of Oscar E. and Audrey E. (Hirte) Scudder. Jimmie met Dora A. Allan while they were serving in the US Army during the Korean War. They were married on Jan. 12, 1957, in Chapel 17 at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He lived in Fennville for many years, was a former city council and planning committee member, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Jimmie retired as a machinist from Textron in Holland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on genealogy, and focused on one day at a time for the past 30 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years on April 26, 2012. Jimmie is survived by his daughter Audrey White of Holland and her children Palmer and Logan; son Jimmie Jr. (Angela) Scudder of Holland and their children Chloe and Alison; son Douglas (Debra) Scudder of Fostoria, OH and their children Amy, Jennifer, and Donovan. Also surviving are his brothers Oscar Scudder Jr. of Texas, Dana (Felicia) Scudder of Arizona, Jerry (Jackie) Scudder of Florida; and brother-in-law Jack Okopski of Howell, MI. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI. Jimmie will be laid to rest in Fennville Cemetery.
