Jerry Allen Voss, age 79, passed away at his daughter's home with his family by his side. Jerry was a resident of Fennville for many years. He had a passion for digging ponds for the last 69 years, mostly for the local blue berry farmers. Jerry also raced at the Kalamazoo speedway. Jerry was a very outgoing person who got along with everyone he came across. He had so many friends, it didn't matter how far he would travel, he would come across someone he knew. Jerry will always be remember by his amazing sense of humor and his willingness to always help a friend in need. Jerry loved to crack jokes, just to make you laugh. He loved to have the family get together and share their favorite homemade dishes. His favorite saying was "I can't afford it, I'm on a fixed income", or "a dollar in the pocket was better than two in the bush!" A saying he has said for many, many years was "a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck, ido ido ido!"
Jerry is the child of late Harold and Vera Voss. He is also preceded in death by sister, Anna Mae Voss and he gets to be with his son that he was never able to meet, Todd Steven Voss, who passed away at birth. Jerry is survived by his children, Ellen (Ernie) Kessler, Amanda (Shane) Voss, and Todd Statler; his sister, Janet (Roy) Merritt; grandchildren, Tyler, Makinley and Trey; nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Hershey.
