Jean Pruger, age 89, formerly of Chicago, died on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland. Jean was born on December 17, 1923 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Alexandra (Herczyk) Karkowski. Jean was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Jean was a devoted Catholic; she attended St. Peter Catholic Church for her time here in Michigan. Jean is loved and survived by her children, Victoria Zeman (Rick Zelenka) of Fennville, Allen (Heneretta) Pruger of Chicago; her grand children, Candice Schmuck, Mandy (Rick) Harris, Brandy (Jeremy) Zachery, all of Fennville; her great grand children, Ryan, Nathan, Alaina, Adam, Jonathan, Cassandra, Alexandra, Emily, Breana, Brandon, Andrew, Allison; and a son in law, Charles Zeman, along with many other friends and family. Jean is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Walter Karkowski. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Douglas with Fr. Fabio Garzon officiating, burial will follow in Plummerville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm-7:30pm with a Rosary prayed at 7:30pm at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville.
