Jane M. Vandenberg entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2022 following a 4 year illness. Jane, born as Barbara Ann Hiller in Detroit, Michigan, was adopted by William and Gertrude Van Hartesvelt of Fennville, MI shortly after birth. Jane was a graduate of Fennville HS in 1951 and went on to nursing school at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI where she graduated in 1954. After graduation, Jane stayed on at Bronson on the pediatric ward for 4 years and then took a position at Douglas Community Hospital as Director of Nursing. Jane married William Vandenberg of Holland, Michigan in 1973, and shortly after retired from nursing. Jane was very involved with her community, volunteering on the Ganges Township Board, Fennville School Board, Bronson Methodist Nursing Association and was an active member of the Douglas Community Church. Jane also organized several large family reunions along with a very detailed family tree. Jane was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Gertrude Van Hartesvelt; husband, William Vandenberg; sister, Donna Wiegerink; and brothers, Edward and Richard Van Hartesvelt. Surviving are her nephews, David and Dennis Van Hartesvelt, Michael Wiegerink; niece, Shari Van Hartesvelt; and several cousins. Visitation will be held at the Douglas Community Church (6874 Wiley Rd., Fennville, MI 49408) on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at which time the memorial service will begin. Jane will be laid to rest by her husband at the Plummerville Cemetery. Service Details.
