James R. Purk, age 63, of Fennville, MI passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Born December 17, 1949, he was the son of Raleigh and Ruth (Beach) Purk. Jim was a US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a woodworker, working at Worden Company in Holland for many years. Jim was a active member of Emmaus Road Bible Church, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife Susan Purk on February 2, 2013. He is survived by his son Jamie and Cheyanne Purk of Hamilton, daughter Amy and Bob Hayes of Grand Junction, step daughters; Cheri Hackney of Muskegon, Deborah and Rudy Santiago of Holland, Cindy Simcik of Hamilton, seven grandchildren two great-grandchildren, brother William and Kathy Purk of Grand Junction, sisters; Nancy and Don Laundry of Savannah, Georgia, Gail and Rich Horton of Bangor, Barb Purk of Glendale, MI, and Julie Purk of Vermontville, MI. Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI, with Pastor Chip Nightingale officiating. Burial will be in the Fruitport Cemetery Fruitport Township, MI. Memorial donations may be made to Emmaus Road Bible Church P.O.
