James Robert Goodeman

July 11, 1957 – August 21, 2024

James Robert Goodeman, a man known for his adventurous spirit and handy skills, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, at his home in Fennville, MI. Born on July 11, 1957, in Saginaw, MI, to the late Robert and Doris (Clabusch) Goodeman, James lived a full and vibrant life that touched many.

James is survived by his loving wife, Jackie (Haire) Goodeman, and their cherished children, Jeff (Dawn) Goodeman, Keri (Bret) Orey, Jeanette Baker, Scott Baker, Stacey (Tim) Heneveld, and Terri Baker. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will miss his warm presence and the joy he brought to their lives. He also leaves behind his sister, Karen Hruby, who will fondly remember their shared moments and the bond they held.

James dedicated many years of service to General Motors, where he not only contributed with his labor but also formed lasting friendships and associations. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and dedication, attributes that he carried into every aspect of his life.

An outdoor enthusiast, James found solace and excitement in the beauty of nature. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and marksman who relished the time spent in the great outdoors, whether it was shooting his guns or exploring the snowy trails on his snowmobile. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for sports. A big watcher of Fox News, James also had a deep love for Detroit Lions football and Tigers baseball, which he followed with fervor and loyalty.

Those who knew James would describe him as adventurous and handy. He had a knack for fixing things, a skill he often used to help others and improve the world around him. His adventurous soul led him to seek new experiences and challenges, always with a positive attitude and a readiness to learn.

James's life was a testament to the joy that can be found in simple pleasures and the importance of family, friendship, and community. His legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

As we bid farewell to James Robert Goodeman, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. He will be deeply missed by all, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light to his family and friends
