James E. Cochran, age 91, of Fennville, Michigan, formally of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at Golden Orchards in Fennville. Born May 15, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Jewell and Flossie (Swift) Cochran. James was a decorated veteran who proudly served his country in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Fennville, MI; step-sons, Carl Jennings of Douglas, MI, Harold Jennings of Vicksburg, MO, Robert Kemp of Ann Arbor, MI; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in James' name to Wounded Worrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM with services starting at 11:30 AM at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI 49408 with burial to follow at Douglas Cemetery. Rev. Salvatore Sapienza of Douglas Congregational United Church of Christ will be officiating.
