James H. Bailey, 56, of Fennville died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Holland Community Hospital. He was born May 1, 1952 in Champaign, Illinois, son of Albert and Madeline Bailey. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign with a degree in Engineering. Jim was a Boiler Engineer at Hope College in Holland and operated Old Allegan Canoe Rentals in Fennville since 1991. He married the former Katherine (Kathey) Dailey on October 30, 1999 in New Richmond and she survives. He was an outdoorsman and liked hunting, fishing, motorcycling, scuba diving, model trains and planes and held a special interest in precious stone cutting and gems. In addition to his wife, Kathey, he is survived by a step-son, Mitchell Pugh of Muskegon and a brother, David Bailey of Florida. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Chappell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital - Burn Unit.
