Ivon H. Martin, age 84, of Fennville, MI, died at his home on, Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Born July 24, 1926 in Mountain View, Arkansas, he was the son of Benjamin and Ora (Adams) Martin. Ivon, married Dorothy M. Higgs, in Fennville, on September 20, 1952, and lived most of his married life in the Fennville area. Ivon worked as a buffer at Scotts Inc. in Holland, and at Bright Metal Finishing in Fennville, until his retirement. Surviving is his wife Dorothy, children; Danny and Sue Martin, of Fennville, Robert and Robyn Martin of Grand Junction, MI, Judy Barrett of Seminole, Alabama, Connie and David Fortenberry of Rockmart, Georgia, Ivona and Bradley Webb of Wayland, MI, twelve grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one sister Pat Stiegmeyer of Topeka, Kansas. Ivon was preceded in death by one son Thomas Martin in 1975. Visitation will be Friday, December 17, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with funeral services 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, all at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI. Officiating will be Mr. David Fortenberry, and burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery, Ganges Township, Allegan County, MI. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Holland.
