Irene George Reed, age 74, of Fennville, MI, passed away, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Golden Orchards Assisted Living in Fennville. Born February 18, 1939 in Judsonia, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Ferris and Ruby (Harbert) Roberts. She and her husband Wesley George Sr. moved to the Fennville area in 1955, and Irene raised her family, and worked as a healthcare provider for many years. Irene was a devout Christian lady, and a member of the Fennville Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley, on July 5, 1995. She is survived by her children; Wesley Jr. and Judy George, Steven and Brenda George, David George, and Robert George, all of Fennville, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Joyce and Alvin Ammon of Hartford, Annette Roberts of CA, and her brother Wes Roberts of Newaygo, MI. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Fennville Assembly of God Church 5897 M-89 Fennville, MI, with Pastor Dennis Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Fennville Cemetery.
