Irene S. Gilliam, age 88 of Holland, Michigan went to be with her lord, on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Born October 31, 1925 in Senath, Missouri, she was the daughter of James and Bertha (Upchurch) Taylor. Irene retired from GE in Holland, and was a member of the Fennville Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Elray H. Gilliam in 1992, son Elvis Ray Gilliam in 1999 and son-in-law Harlis Cross in 2001. She is survived by her children; Mary and Homer McFarland of Holland, Timothy Gilliam of New Orleans. LO, Elreba and Paul Eaton of Lake Wales, FL, Lorraine Cross of Oneida, TN, Sharrann Gilliam of Holland, Kathy Lesperance of Oneida, FL, DeAnna and Fred Gonzales of Holland, daughter-in-laws Karla Gilliam and Joanne Gilliam both of Saugatuck and Ruth Gilliam of Richmond, VA, nineteen grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with funeral services 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI.
