Helen (Shumaker) Ruffner, age 64, of Fennville, MI, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at Hospice House in Holland, MI. Born May 2, 1944 in Allegan, MI she was the daughter of Irvin and Theresa (Bedes) Shumaker. She lived in the Fennville area most of her life, and worked for L & W Engineering in Holland for the past seven years. Helen was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies auxiliary. Surviving are her children; Rhonda Barnes and her husband Gabriel Galvin of Fennville, Jodi Moreno of Holland, and Ernesto Moreno II and his wife Diane of Fennville, eight Grandchildren, brothers; Lloyd Shumaker of Holland, and George Shumaker of Bitely, MI, sisters; Barb Cox of South Haven, MI, and Sue Zyble of Cheboygan, MI. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
