Harris Warren Huyser, age 92, of Hamilton, Michigan, passed away on May 14, 2026. He was born to Maurice and Evelyn Huyser, on September 3, 1933, in Holland, Michigan, and lived a long life marked by devotion to his family, steady work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness each day.
Harris served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, a time of service that reflected his sense of duty and commitment. He graduated from Fennville High School and went on to build a hardworking career as a tool and die maker. He was known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic, qualities that earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.
Above all else, Harris cherished his family. He shared 68 loving years of marriage with his wife, Carol Huyser, and together they built a life centered on faith, love, and togetherness. He was a devoted father to Michael and Alice Huyser and Mark and Stacey Huyser. Harris was a proud grandfather to Matthew and Lisa Huyser, Tianna Doe, Mariah Huyser, Joshua Huyser, and Nathaniel Huyser, and he delighted in his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Caleb, Cooper, Luke. He is survived by his youngest brother Roger along with many nieces and nephews. His family was the greatest joy in his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Harris enjoyed the outdoors and found peace in the activities he loved. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he had a keen eye for finding morel mushrooms and arrowheads. He also liked going to the casino, working in his yard, and spending time with the guys each morning at the Blue Goose for coffee. These routines were part of the rhythm of his life, and they reflected his easygoing nature and appreciation for friendship and fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Evelyn Huyser, his son Michael Huyser, and his siblings Victor Huyser and Donna Siebelink.
Those who knew Harris will remember him as a man of quiet strength, steady presence, and genuine kindness. He lived a full life rooted in family, service, and hard work, and he leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished always by those whose lives were touched.
