Harold Stanley, age 82, of Fennville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Born in Missouri, he moved to Fennville as an infant where he resided for most of his life. He was a member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ in Holland. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Martha (Giles); children, Penny (David) Allen of Fennville, Michigan and Dawn (Stan) Shelton of Luther, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. At a young age Harold took his first job at the Foster Brothers Grocery Store in Fennville, then Baker Furniture. Harold purchased the Citco Gas Station in Fennville, where he worked as the owner and operator. He later started working for the Holland Hitch Co., and ended up relocating to California for the company. When he came back to Michigan he worked for General Electric in Holland, working as a tool maker. Harold would then start his own carpentry business as a licensed contractor. He then purchased and operated the Fennville Lumber Company. Finally he would work for the Fennville Post Office, where he retired. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 7th, 2018 at the Lakeshore Church of Christ, 711 Butternut Drive, Holland, MI 49424, at 11 AM. A luncheon will immediately follow. Service Information
