Harold "Sandy" Otto Santefort, 96 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Golden Orchards Assisted Living in Fennville. Born in Phoenix, Illinois on August 27, 1923, he was the son of the late Tina Rice and the husband of Margaret (Schaefer) Santefort. Sandy was a veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he spent most of his working years in the automobile business. He also served as the HOA president in Harvey, Illinois for 20 years. He and his wife, Margaret, enjoyed many years together raising their son and later spending time with their grandchild and great-grandchildren, though traveling became harder in the later years. Sandy leaves behind his loving wife, Margaret, and their son, Dean Santefort, along with one grandchild, Jonathan (Michelle) Santefort and two great-grandchildren, Jude Michael and Jacob. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Fennville United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM. He will be interred with honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Service Details.
