Hans A. Christensen, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Douglas, Michigan. He was born on December 7, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Albert and Esther (Flybjerg) Christensen. Hans owned and operated a service station in Illinois for 30 years before retiring to Michigan. He enjoyed model railroading and watching the wildlife. Hans is survived by his wife of 46 years Donna (Poulsen) Christensen, children; David (Lu Ann) Christensen, Richard (Kim) Christensen, Esther (Pat) Solar, Julie Westerberg, Karen (Mark) Heeter, Karl (Holly) Christensen, and Mary Johnson, all of Illinois, sisters Margaret Smoot of Pleasant Lake, MI, Ina Merckx of Texas, and brother Kenneth (June) Christensen of Tennessee, 15 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Hans was preceded in death by one son Mark Christensen, brother Donald Christensen, and his parents. As Hans requested, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 12:00 noon, with visitation one hour before service time, at the Casco United Methodist Church, with Rev.
