Haidee "Ada" Morehead, age 92, of Fennville, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Born January 5, 1926 in Irving, Illinois, she was the daughter of Robert and Essie (Hilt) Caulk. Ada was married to Coach Sam Morehead for 67 years until his death in 2013. Ada was a devoted mother and beloved grandmother. A strong woman of faith, she assumed an active leadership role in the Fennville United Methodist Church. A retired public school educator, Ada spent 20+ years of her career with the Fennville Public Schools. Her first assignment was a classroom at the top of the hill on First Street in what was then the shop/ag building. She then spent 2 years at the Gidley School before beginning her tenure at Anna Michen Elementary where she worked with English Language Learners and the para-professional staff. Ada was an enthusiastic Blackhawk Booster and everyone knows she was the "great woman" behind her beloved husband, Coach Morehead, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Vicki Hall. She is survived by her daughters: Hedy Morse, Jody (Dennis) Martin and Merri-Lou Morehead of Fennville; Tammy (Skip) Pattison of Peachtree City, Georgia, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Lemar Hartman.
