Gladys went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 7, 2005, surrounded by her loving daughter Karleen and son-in-law, Dennis Wooster. She passed away at Hospice House in Holland, Michigan after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at ll:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Chappell Funeral Home, Fennville, with the Rev. Cindy Parsons officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, August 9, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Memorials may be made to Hospice House in Holland. Mrs. Ridley was born May 18, 1921, in Glenn, Michigan, to Leo and Frieda Schrolder Dornan. She lived most of her life in the Glenn and Casco area, and was a telephone operator, retiring in 1983. She attended Glenn and Casco United Methodist Churches. Gladys served in the WAAC (Women's Auxiliary Army Corps) during World War II, spending 2l months in Italy. On January 1, 1955, she married Charlie Ridley in Glenn, and he survives. Also surviving, a daughter, Karleen and Dennis Wooster of Newbury Park, Calif.; three brothers, Vern and Joan Dornan of Cadillac, Mich., Edward and Marge Dornan of Bangor, and Bernard Dornan of Glenn; and a sister, Mary Lou Ridley of South Haven.
