Geraldine Wafford was born to Mary Ann Wafford on July 23, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. She and her family moved to Pullman, Michigan in June 1962 when her Mother decided to bring her family out of the city due to gang violence. She attended Pullman Elementary and Bloomingdale High School before graduating from Fennville High School in 1972. After graduation Geraldine worked in the blueberry fields, apple orchards, peach fields and for a time was employed by Michigan Cannery in Fennville, Michigan. Geraldine loved assisting the elderly and many days could be found taking them to doctors' appointments, grocery shopping or just assisting them with things that needed doing around their homes. She enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes with them. Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Melissa (Tony) Carouthers-Curry, two sons Jeremiah (J-Roc) and Clifton Curry, four grandchildren Maya, Jasmine, Najee, and Naqam, one great-grandson Maijor, three sisters Rev. Daisy Lipsey, Dannetta Wafford, and Norine Wafford, three brothers Jerome Wafford, Ian Womack, Micheal Wafford and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Geraldine passed away in her sleep at home on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother Mary Ann Wafford, her son John, her sisters Ella, Allyne, and Etta, her nephew Earl Carswell, Jr., Uncle Kid, Aunt Augusta, Aunt Eva, Aunt Marie, Uncle Sun, Uncle Blue, and Uncle Ike.
