Geraldine L. (Case) Vanhetloo, 81, of Holland, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 2, 2005, at a local care facility. She was born in Ionia, served in The Women's Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II. Gerry was office manager of Fennville Lumber Company for her first husband John Case. She later worked for High Q Industries in Fennville, then for Dr. Kenneth Kratzer after the death of John Case in 1973, she married Dr. Warren Vanhetloo in 1977 and moved to Pennsylvania. There, she volunteered in the Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary library and office. In 1998, the Vanhetloos returned to Michigan, living in Holland. Gerry was a member of First Baptist Church of Zeeland. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Case, granddaughter, Kara Smiertka, and sisters Jessie Martin and Margaret Westbrook. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Warren Vanhetloo; daughters Sharon and Hil Sybesma of Valley Center, CA, Trude and Steve Brower of Holland, Lindsey and Dennis Smiertka of Allegan, and Shelley and Scott MacGirr of Grand Haven; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Waters and brother-in-law Thomas Westbrook, both of Ionia. Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, with the Rev. Raymond Mayhew officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Haven Park Christian Nursing Home, Zeeland, or Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary, 1380 S. Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, PA.
