Gary L. Barnes, age 63, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Wings Home in Allegan. Born March 19, 1950 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the son of Leslie and Phyllis (Pearmen) Barnes. Gary was a free spirit, and enjoyed his time spent riding motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his parents in 2012 and one brother Neil, in 1994. Surviving are his children Jennifer Barnes and John Dowler of Hampton Virginia, son Gary Barnes of Allegan, daughter Theresa Foster, life partner Maureen Zalewski of Shelbyville, grandchildren; Cambry and Naomi, sister Cheryl and Ron Grinnell, brother Larry and Linda Barnes, sister Janice and Larry Statler, brother Terry and Mary Barnes all of Allegan, and many nieces and nephews. At his request cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Wings Home 330 Linn St. Allegan, MI 49010.
