Gabriel Pena, a cherished family man and master carpenter, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Zeeland, Michigan, at the age of 81. Born on January 7, 1943, in Weslaco, Texas, Gabriel's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, dedication, and hard work.

Gabriel is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Hermelinda Perez-Pena, and their loving children: Maria (Jose) Betancourt, John Pena, Gabriel Pena Jr., Rosie (Armando) Esparaza, Daniel (Day) Pena, Norma Deciano, and Benny Pena. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many, who will miss his warmth and guidance. Gabriel's legacy also lives on through his sister Bertha Pena, brother Pedro (Angelica) Pena, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who were dear to him. He was predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Martina Pena, and his siblings Victoria Medrano, Virginia Alaniz, Luis Pena, Julio Sarabia, and Janie Ochoa.

Gabriel's professional life was marked by his exceptional skill as a carpenter, a trade he honed with passion and precision. His craftsmanship was not just a job but an art that he practiced with joy, leaving a part of himself in every project he completed.

Gabriel was a devoted husband and father. His love for his wife and children was the cornerstone of his life. Gabriel's funeral mass will be Friday, December 20th, 2024, starting 11:00am at San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church with one hour viewing beforehand. Mass of Christian Burial to Pearl Cemetery with luncheon afterwards at San Felipe.

Donations may be made in Gabriel's name to San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church or flowers for his funeral.
