Florine H. Gooding, age 98, of Fennville, MI passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Grace of Douglas in Douglas, MI. Born January 11, 1918 in Pearl, MI, she was the daughter of Louis and Mildred (Barrett) Johnson. Florine worked as a Kindergarten teacher at Douglas Elementary for many years. She attended the Ganges Baptist Church, she was a past Matron of the Fennville Eastern Star #173 and member of the Allegan County Retired School Teachers. Florine is preceded in death by her husband Kirby Gooding and one son Thomas Gooding. Surviving are her children, Kirby (Barry) and Noreen Gooding of Fennville, Michael and Carol Gooding of Allegan, MI; 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, brother Crosby Johnson of England and sister, Pauline Lee of Holland, MI. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Ganges Baptist Church, with Rev. Monika Rodas and Rev. Thomas Case officiating. Florine will be laid to rest at Taylor Cemetery, Ganges Township Allegan County, MI. Memorial donation may be made in Florine's name to the Ganges Baptist Church or Great Lakes Hospice.
