Eugene Edward Bass Jr., of Allegan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Bronson Hospital, surrounded by his family. Eugene, known as "Gene" was born in Huntington, Indiana September 26, 1958, the son of Eugene and Doris Bass. Gene was a member of the First Congregational Church of Allegan. His favorite past times were playing cards and video games with family and friends. He was a very devoted family man and friend to many and will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Barbara. Gene's children were the absolute light of his life. He was truly cherished by his sisters and family. Surviving are his wife Barbara, daughter Doris and Thomas Jorgensen of Quapaw, Ok., son Steven and Christy Bass of Joplin, Mo., two grandchildren; Andrew Jorgensen and Sariah Jorgensen McGee of Quapaw, Ok., sisters Judy and Charles O'Bryant, Barbara Campbell of Allegan, Marjorie and Jame Fluty of Delton, Mary and Terry Barnes of Allegan, Sandy Gleason of Pullman, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.
