Ellen J. Hall, age 78, of Fennville, died early Saturday morning March 8, 2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Ellen was born on October, 24, 1935 in Douglas, the daughter of Harry and Delia (Gretzinger) Sargent. On June 10, 1954, Ellen married George Hall and together they enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage. Ellen had a deep love for drag racing and was lovingly known as "Ma" at almost every track she raced at! She also enjoyed taking care of and riding horses, snowmobiling and loved doberman's. For 23 years she was the transportation director for Fennville schools and was also a member of the Fennville Methodist Church. Ellen is loved and survived by her husband, George, her children; Robert (Linda) Hall of Fennville, Janice (Linus) Starring of Saugatuck, Judy (Jeffrey) Thurston of Pinckney, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a sister; Donna Beery-Heavilin and many friends. She is preceded by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Skinner. A memorial service to celebrate Ellen's life will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 11:00am at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W.
