Obituary

Eleanor (Elena) Ransom, age 88, of Pullman, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at American House in Holland, Michigan. Born September 26, 1928 in Naples Italy, she was the daughter of Alfredo and Guiseppina (DeNovellis) Forlenza. Eleanor was a war bride at the age of 17, she was self-taught in english, and was a very hard working lady, working for many years at Perrigo in Allegan, MI, retiring in 1995. She and her husband Jack, loved to dance and were members of a dance club. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Douglas, and the Casco Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, one daughter Jo Merriweather and one son-in-law Bob Young. Surviving are her children; Rose and Jim Merriweather of Holland, Dora Young of Zeeland, John and Marilyn Ransom of Pullman, 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Chappell Funeral Home 637 W. Main St. Fennville, MI, with visitation starting at 12:00 noon. Officiating will be Father Fabio Garzon, and burial will be in the McDowell Cemetery, Casco Township Allegan County, MI. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
