Obituary

Eldon Elmer McKeown, 81, of Fennville, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 in the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II, and was a charter member of VFW Post 79ll. He had been employed as a tool and die maker at Bohn Aluminum, retiring after 30 years of employment. Surviving are his wife, Mary; children, Kenneth and Marion McKeown, Burton and Jan McKeown, Debra McKeown all of Fennville, and Joyce Burklow of Quitman, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Erma Nielson of Allegan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Laaksonen, and by a grandson, Burton Eldon McKeown. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at the Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main Street, Fennville with the Pastor Thomas Case officiating. Burial will be in Plummerville Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to South Haven Area Hospice.
