Eileen M. Violante, age 74, of Holland, Michigan passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at MediLodge in Holland. Born December 21, 1941 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Thomas and Marie (Lindemann) Smith. She married Francis Violante on May 6, 1967 and has spent the past 48 years by his side. Eileen was a homemaker to her children; a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Douglas, MI and also volunteered at Christian Neighbors. Most importantly Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is her husband Frank Violante of Holland; children Renee and Tom Kelly, Mary Violante, Karen and Tim Steenwyk all of Holland, Anthony and Monica Violante of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; siblings Cathy Hartney, Margie Pietkiewicz, and Tom Smith. Visitation will be held at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St. Fennville on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2-5 PM with rosary starting at 4:30 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 100 St Peters Dr., Douglas, MI on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow.
