Edward Garfield, age 72 of Pullman, MI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2017, at his home. Born December 30, 1944 in Keene, NH, he was the son of Charles and Bessie (Reed) Garfield. Ed proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for many years. Ed was active in the community as a member of the Pullman VFW, and as a Chaplin with the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Ed could often be seen around town driving in his red truck. Most of all though, Ed loved his family and truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Arminda Garfield of Pullman; daughters, Katrine Garfield of Pullman, Rebecca Eaton of Traverse City, MI, and Amber (Dennis) Peterson of Pullman; grandchildren, Willow VanWieren, Aiden VanWieren, and Keith "Trey" Eaton. Ed also leaves behind his brother, Richard Garfield; niece Tammy Keeton and nephew Randy Keeton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main St., Fennville, MI 49408. Ed will be laid to rest in Lee Cemetery.
