Douglas R. McCarty, age 44, of Fennville, died suddenly Thursday, August 4, 2011. Born January 29, 1967 in Douglas, Michigan, he was the son of Clois (Ray) and Irma (Barnes) McCarty. A graduate of Fennville High School Doug worked at Mead Johnson in Zeeland for the past twelve years. An avid outdoorsman Doug loved hunting, fishing, shooting, and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. Doug was preceded in death by his father Ray, and his sister Pat McCarty. Surviving is his wife Diane, sons Steven and Jacob McCarty, mother Irma McCarty, niece Michelle and Travis VanRhee, and great nephew Tahner. Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home Fennville.
