Dorothy Marie Martin, age 83, passed away with her loving family by her side on August 22, 2018. Dorothy was strong in her faith, setting a great example to her children and family. She was an avid gardener who also enjoyed canning and cooking for her family. In 1996 Dorothy retired from Fennville Public Schools, after 26 years. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Judy Barrett, Connie (David) Fortenberry, and Ivona (Bradley) Webb; son, Robert (Robin) Martin; two loving sisters, Diane and Debbie; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Lola Mae Leslie; step-father, George Smith; her loving husband of 58 years, Ivon H. Martin; sons, Thomas Martin and Danny Martin; son in law, Daniel Barrett and brother, Oscar Smith. A visitation will be held at Chappell Funeral Home, 637 W. Main Street in Fennville, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be at Chappell Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bob Brydges officiating. Interment will take place at Taylor Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to follow at Living Waters Community Church, 5458 124th Ave. in Fennville.
